If Only
The Morrissey news is flying hot and heavy over at Moz-Solo dot com. Best to click through and get it all there, but for those of you with ADD, here are some highlights psuedo-bullet stizz
- The Irish Blood, English Heart single + three b sides are listed in the iTunes Music Store but not available for purchase until Tuesday. However, you can listen to 30 second previews of all four songs.
- Morrissey will tape his appearances for The Late Late Show with Craiggers on May 24th and May 26th. Both dates are sold out.
- Great Moz article over at the Independent UK.
Four days until Moz in NYC!
Not much to report on the Coachella front yet. NME has a small piece but nothing of import there. Even ateaseweb is slacking on the Radiohead set from last night. I might try and text Grambo later today to get a 10 word update.
The NY Times on Steve Jobs and Apple's next move.
This just in...the NBA is TV's bitch. The Lakers v. Spurs match-up, should it go the full seven games, will take an astounding 18 days to complete. The schedule is beyond ridiculous. We have a Sunday-Wednesday-Sunday opener for Games 1-3. That's bad enough. The real jaw dropper is that the league and its TV conspirators have somehow concluded that it's a real good idea to have Game 6 on Saturday, May 15, and Game 7 on the following Wednesday... Can you imagine a big win in Game 6 to even the series -- and then having to wait three days before Game 7? You have to go back 25 years, to the 1979 Western Conference finals between Phoenix and Seattle, to find a three-day gap between a Game 6 and a Game 7. Including that year, there have since been 44 best-of-seven series in the playoffs. In 37 of them, there was one day between Games 6 and 7, which is how it should be.
In related news, Ricky Davis's stay in Boston has not been as saintly as first thought. Get right on that Doc.
Working feverishly on May's playlist which will be revealed tomorrow.
So blow our mind / and make it lazy
Those long long days / with no escaping
I hold the wheel / to let it go
Don't wanna stop / don't wanna know
If it gets you down / well just don't blame me
