Bye Bye Bye

Phil Jackson: gone (Is Rudy T or Hank Bibby next?)

Kobe Bryant: opted out

Shaquille O'Neal: trade me

TMac: trade me too (but maybe not if Shaq wants to come home)

Danny Ainge did not force Jim O'Brien out of town, it was the owners. And now we know Ainge's master plan. Fire Carroll, hire Carril, as in Hall Of Famer, former Princeton coach and current Kings assistant Pete. His contract with the Kings runs out on June 30. What say ye Coolfer?

And on a completely separate note, Barry Bonds can go fuck himself. I wouldn't want that steroid using egomaniac ruining my favorite baseball team anyways.

Don't you think you're being a little hard on Barry? It's not like he said anything that legions of NBA players haven't been saying for years. And even if you say that things have gotten better, NO ONE denies that Boston is a colloquial place that's very hard on surly outsiders like Mr. Bonds

It's hard to deny that despite being THE dominant player in baseball for more than a decade, Bonds has been somewhat underappreciated, particularly in the endorsement arena. You can explain it away by talking about personalities or being on the West Coast, but race is certainly a viable possibility.

As someone who lives in SF (and is not a Giants fan), I can tell you it is a privledge to be able to see this guy on a daily basis. Forget the dramatic home runs or the gaudy numbers, Bonds's mere presence has intimidated the entire National League (and most of the AL too if interleague is any indication). To say you wouldn't want him in the middle of the Boston lineup is ludicrous. Just hope he doesn't wind up a Yankee someday
