Life Is Hard. You Have To Change.

newimac2 Say hello to the new iMac, complete with G5 processor. This baby packs a complete computer system into two inches of depth in what Apple says is "the world's thinnest desktop computer." The new line offers 17- or 20-inch active matrix widescreen LCDs and G5 processors running up to 1.8GHz starting at $1,299. "Just like the iPod redefined portable digital music players, the new iMac G5 redefines what users expect from a consumer desktop," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing.

The Sports Guy has an interesting theory on why LeBron and 'Melo didn't get any PT in Athens: ...it seems curious why he didn't want the No. 1 and No. 3 picks in the 2003 Draft to succeed in Athens. Until you remember that he's coaching the No. 2 pick from that same draft. Then it seems a little less curious. Just a little. Blame the Bronze on Darko!

KG, the current MVP, must be one helluva teammate. At an informal workout the other day at Target Center, after Timberwolves rookie Rick Rickert made a nifty move to slip past his boyhood idol, Kevin Garnett of the Wolves, to score a basket,Garnett responded, without warning, by punching Rickert in the jaw. A cut required seven stitches to close, and Rickert also suffered a chipped tooth. Remind me to get on KG's team next time we play a game of pick up.

Zach Randolph's recent legal troubles, which surprisingly have nothing to do with Peabs, might have him headed to Milwaukee. The current deal under discussion is Randolph, Derek Anderson and a 2005 draft pick to Milwaukee for Michael Redd, Desmond Mason and Marcus Haislip. How about this quote from Randolph's high school coach: "And the problem is he is hanging with the wrong people. I just don't want the day to come where I pick up that paper and it says he shot someone, or that he was shot. Every day that goes by that I don't see that, I feel good." Zach sounds like quality people.

It's a bit old, but it's still choice. From Boston Dirt Dogs;

sung to the tune of "fame"
Sveum! He's gonna wave forever. He sends Ortiz on a fly, Why? He feels it's now or never, Dale Sveum will send 'em then cry Sveum! He can't even make it a close play, Out like a light, douse the flame, Sveum! He's gonna wave forever, Davey remember his name, Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember.

Fucking genius I say.

J Will, 70 percent and rising. Go get 'em young buck.

This is a protest sign.

I laughed out loud a this one.

Why my cases ain't get thrown out / Why team USA keep getting blown out. Nice. Also, keep your eye out for the new Mos Def album in Mid-October.

One more Ted Leo tour before the end of the year! Holla.

Jaws in 30 seconds with Bunnies. All praise the Thighmaster for the link. And nice Serge Zwikker reference BTW. Don't think I didn't notice that one.

Let's hope this is better than Jersey Girl. Actually, I haven't seen Jersey Girl, I'm just assuming it sucks.

Don't get me wrong, I am fucking excited about 4.5, but I am ready for some fucking basketball. Fall can't get here soon enough.

Sink my hands into the sea
Reach your fingers up to me
Trust me one more time
I can only try
Throw yourself to me
And I'll try to pull you free

I had to laugh at the KG/Rickert deal. I had a run-in with the loaf from the north a couple years ago when he thought his "I'm a high school star" sheen meant he could intimidate me. Maybe KG had a reason to bust some chops?

I heard that Rickert was playing KG hard, and that other players (Kris Humphries and Chris Carr) were egging Rickert on to keep going at KG. KG was getting pissed and after Rickert scored on him, KG punched him. Supposedly, Rickert went down to one knee, got back up, and KG hit him again. It didn't sound like Rickert said one word.

That's the story I heard through some friends who work in the front office at the Wolves. It's not the first time KG's done shit like this. You should hear some of the stories about him and Wally in practice. And you saw how KG hit Francisco Elson of the Nuggets in the nuts during the playoffs last year. I still love KG, but he needs to chill sometimes.
