The Better You Look The More You See
How does this cast strike you? Kip Pardue, Casey Affleck, Brittany Daniel, Shannen Doherty, Maggie Gyllenhaal(!!!!!), Robert Sean Leonard, Rose McGowan, William L. Petersen, Shannyn Sossamon, Vince Vaughn, Estella Warren and Billy Zane. Not too shabby, eh? What movie are they starring in you ask? No biggie...only Glamorama! And yes, true believer, I did save the best for last. How does this strike you? Directed and Written for the Screen by Roger Avary (check out those Van Der Beek pics on his site, brilliant!). I am a huge fan of The Rules of Attraction so if Glamorama is half as good, I'll be in heaven.
This book will always hold a special place in my heart as I got the pleasure of attending a Brett Easton Ellis reading/signing at The New School in NYC during his tour to promote the book. It was the first proper reading I had ever been to and I was hooked. I got Easton Ellis to autograph my copy (first edition, natch)and we even had a nice little conversation about Oasis. That was the first of my ever expanding collection of books signed by the author. Now I have books signed by Chuck Palahniuk (eight actually), Hunter S. Thompson, and Amy Hempel. My knee surgery kept me from getting Douglas Coupland's autograph last year in NYC. I was crushed to say the least. Hopefully he will do a book tour behind Elanor Rigby and I can finally tell him about information leafblower dot com (which he inspired).
Speaking of book tours, I'm sad to report that the aforementioned Chucky P. has elected to skip the nation's capitol on his latest book tour (but for some reason is going to Albany, Chapel Hill and Durham) for the trade paperback version of Choke.
Anyone catch Kerry on The Daily Show last night? I thought he did pretty well, but the guy has no personality. Lighten up dude. Oh, BTW, if you search for information on John Kerry on MSN, I am on the front page!
My guess is the following will be the most blogged about item in the world today: The state of Illinois sued the Dave Matthews Band on Tuesday for allegedly dumping up to 800 pounds of liquid human waste from a bus into the Chicago River, dousing a tour boat filled with passengers. No, I am not making this up. If it's on CNN, it must be true.
Moz on Thursday's episode of Kilborn? That's the next to last episode ever. If you need your Craiggers fix, get it while you can.
The "longlist" of nominee's for the ShortList Award.
See! Coolfer isn't all bad. He puts out some really good points in this post from yesterday.
I told myself I was gonna steer clear of this subject, but this is so unbelievably bad I just laughed when I watched/heard it. I'm not the only one. Maybe it's a big joke and I just don't get it. The word "caricature" comes to mind.
Just because I like beating a dead horse, it seems like Team USA could use a little PP in their game. Hello 19.8 ppg, 48% shooting percentage (49% from three), plus 4.6 rebounds a game in the 2002 World Championships. Also, here is an idea that's gaining some steam and worth considering. Bring back Trajan Langdon baby!
PS - How's that trade working out for you? Looks OK from over here.

Al Gore didn't have much of a personality until AFTER the election, which was frustrating. Still, sometimes I feel like a lack of personality is comforting. I think the campaign stance should be: hey, he's too busy doing his job to charm you, America.

Do you mean the song is bad, or the video is bad (or both)? The song was okay, though it's all chorus. I expect I'll be sick of it within days of getting Madden 2005. And though you'd know the truth of it better than I, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the video is a bit of a joke.
