Hold On Hope

Busy day at the office today. Sheesh. Let's get right to it.

Any town in the state of Massachusetts can request a visit from the World Series trophy. Just after the World Series ended (probably the same time i was finishing that bottle of champagna) Team President Larry Lucchino pledged to take the trophy to each of the 351 cities and towns in the state. "It seemed like a good idea at the time," said Lucchino. "Frankly, it still does." Right on!

Bye Bye Pokey.

Anyone that knows me knows I watch two kinds of reality TV: little and none. But that's about to change now. Doug and Jackie Christie (of crazy and crazier fame) are about to get their own reality show. Let's all take a moment, sit back and just wait for those Sports Guy columns to roll in. Pure comedy gold I tell ya! (thanks Coolfer)

Speaking of the Sports Guy, he has a column up today called State of The Celtics, Volume One! Should be good, but I'll have to check it out after I'm done writing this.

And speaking of muthafookin' Coolfer, let's give him one big collective pat on the back for 1) finally being assimilated into my beloved Tech Cult and 2) for getting his own fookin' column in Playlist Mag!!!!! Yes, that deserved five exclamation points. Our little baby is all growns up. Seems like yesterday I was giving a fledgling Coolfer my spare copy of MacWorld so he could decide what blogging platform to use for his crazy idea of a blog that actually talked about the inner workings of the music industry. Nice one my friend. And if you aren't already jealous of him, the Kings finally beat the Knicks in the Garden last night, a game he saw in the flesh. It was their first W there since I was still in college! It's OK to hate him.

Does it get any better than this GBV Eulogy over at Nudeasthenews? If you said yes, then check out their Top 100 GBV Songs and that will certainly change your mind. I am by no means a GBVhead, but no Surgical Focus? Wha' happened?
PS - Catherine went to the last ever GBV show.

You're going straight to hell.

DC Concert Alert!
2/17: The Music w/ Kasabian Although their new records blows chunks, very excited to finally see The Music and I've heard nothing but good things about Kasabian.
2/21: The Futureheads. Still don't have this record, but I downloaded one of their tracks and looooooved it.

Someone out there has the new Wedding Present album...

More site redesigns! I guess that just leaves you...Glad I got mine done ahead of the curb. Best thing that came about due to my redesign? I'm back in the creme de la creme at Whatevs. I no longer simply have more buzz than you! Ha!

More bluestate buzz!

Lastly, today I leave you with an MP3 of the new sensation...Welsh rap collective the Goldie Lookin Chain. You may recall their appearance in my year end Top 10 album list, well now I'm giving you a chance to check out the goods(in MP3 format - and not AAC- no less). This track is called Guns Don't Kill People, Rappers Do, and it's true because they saw it in a documentary on BBC2. Check it out and let me know what you think. Tomorrow I'll drop a track from the upcoming Super Furry Gruff record. If the mp3 doesn't work leave me a comment and I'll fix it later. Everytime I try and check it here at work, Firefox crashes.

Hey, where'd ya read about the Futureheads date? I'm kicking myself... I wanna see 'em, but I'll be in DC when they're up here in Boston, and I won't be down there until 2/23, so I'll miss 'em twice! Terrible timing, that is.
