There There
It's snowing!!!
I'm feeling a bit better today, thanks for asking. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for LL Cool Jarvis. He has had a slight cough for the last week or so and it's gotten worse so we are going to the vet tonight. I hope he's OK. I'm sure it's nothing serious but I freaked out where I started doing research on the internets about cat cough. Yikes! The same thing happened to me right before my knee surgery. I was fine leading up to the big event, and then the night before I started poking around on the interweb and what I read seriously freaked me out. *sigh*
So I bought my ticket last night and I'm definitely going to NYC on Friday to see Sea Ray's final show. Road trip! Who's with me? Any NYC peeps going to be in attendance? If so, drop me a line and let's get together. ...Trail of Dead are also playing that night so hopefully I can go to both. If anyone has any details for that, let me know.
I don't watch a whole lot of non-basketball related TV but a friend got me hooked on The Amazing Race and I was v. happy to see Jonathan (aka "the Mental Magician") get canned last night. What a DB! And is it just me, or is little Hayden a total hottie? Granted that's not the best pic of her.
More pictures of me on the internets.
Marky Doodles and "Brandon" Arroyo will be back in Beantown next year. Good stuff.
The C's play the Baby Bulls tonight. It's their first game in four days. I've been in serious withdrawl. This is a big game for us. If we can win this our next three games are at Jersey, Atlanta and Charlotte and if we win all four, we'll be over .500 and in first place. Then we can lose to Phoenix and Indiana after that and be right back where we started. In other news, Delonte West is ready to be activated. Hott.
Doggie doo doo delays Pistons game.
Can you say letdown game?
Woo Hoo! New Portishead on the way!
The Super Furries have finished mixing their new album in Rio with Mario Caldato. It is still untitled but Bunf and Dav will sing on it!
Go download you some KCRW Arcade Fire.
Go download you some more new Idlewild. What I have heard thus far has been less than promising. Will they ever recapture the glory and sonic godhead that was 100 Broken Windows (literally one of the 20 best CD's I own). Damore, your thoughts?
Lastly, this is why I am going snowboarding on my day off tomorrow.

*cough* *cough*...

too bad about her being kind of a jerk, though...
'Singles' bands like The Charlatans & Ash haven't broken thru here, & I don't see this being the album to break Idlewild in the US (though I hope it does). Alot of acoustic guitar, no keyboards, line-up changes (added guitarist & new bassist) etc. They are progressing even more towards the mature REM sound, as was evident on The Remote Part. That said, I'm glad the sound appears to be different from their previous 4 & Woomble's songwriting appears to be solid per usual. I say buzz.
Damore speaks!
Personally I think Idlewild are a little too "Document" and need to be more "Life's Rich Pageant", but that's just me.
Sorry about Jarvis. And that sucks about Sea Ray. My band opened for them in Baltimore a few months ago and they hung out for an hour or two after the show. They were super nice and friendly on top of being an amazing band...
