Colorblind
Try as I might, I cannot seem to wake up today. Frustrating.
Especially when you look at the week I have coming up:
Wed: iPod Jukebox
Thurs: Feist(!!!!)/British Sea Power @ Black Cat
Fri: Echo & The Bunnymen in Lancaster, PA
Sat: Possibly driving home to NC to see my folks.
Hmmmmmmm...Guess I'm not on Tofu Hut's radar. Anyhoo, lots of links to lots of MP3 blogs.
Yet another show I have to go to.
Secret Machines / Kings Of Leon @ 930 Club on Aug 11th
Wow, Bitchfork gets it right, not once but twice. I'm just glad someone finally called Weezer out for sucking so hard. The Green Album was meh, but the follow up was just horrible. To me Islands In The Sun is the only decent thing they've done post-Pinkerton. Meanwhile, Spoon effing rule.
Time is running out to enter my Kasabian contest.
Everyone at work keeps asking me "What's wrong with the Sox?" I don't get it. The O's are unconscious and only 2.5 games ahead of us. We've used eight different starting pitchers and are still 8-2 in our last 10 games. Kevin Millar finally homered. We're doing just fine. Now then, the Yanks...that's a different story altogether.
I still don't want to talk about the Celtics.

Oh, c'mon...let's talk about the Celtics!
yeah, i hope to be at feist too...glad she is finally getting a stateside release. should be a good time. I will also be at that kings show...damn you for adding that to my already full calendar.
GO O's!
Please to explain "The O's are unconscious"? We're 12-3 and only the ChiSox (who are looking damn, damn good) have a better record than us! You're right about the BoSox looking good despite adversity... but the Birds are hottt. You're right about one thing: the Yanks are not looking too great and I'm surprised Torre still has a job.
Torre will be gone by July 4th if they do not turn it around (and man I am praying that they stay where they are). As for the Celtics, Coolfer...realize that they played two games sans one of their stars (Toine and Pierce).
As for the Orioles...give it a month and we can start talking about how great they are. They have played, for the most part, at home. Their pitching is held together with bubblegum and sticks...give it a few weeks and they will be .500 at best.
The White Sox are an interesting story...I ususally do not even bother with the central but this year may be different. However, give it a month (and the return of Frank "Cancer" Thomas with his ridiculous salary) and maybe the Twins could be back on top?
As for the "real" Sox...all we can do is pray for a timely return for Schilling and I think we will be just fine. Wade Miller looked amazing in a loss and Arroyo is showing that he is a solid starter in a rotation that could be the best "healthy" pitching staff in the AL (if Schil and Boomer return soon).
Enjoy BSP/Feist...I caught BSP last time and they were great (I am in NY Thursday so no BSP for me).
Try as I might, I've never been able to summon the Spoon love... so many people with shared tastes dig 'em, but I'm missing something. Maybe it's a mood thing.
(Tofu Hut hurt my feelings, too!)
You're on my radar NOW dude. Howdy!
How bout that game last night??? Man Millar does nothing for two months and then blows up two games in a row. I wanted to kill him when he made the error in the first...but now he is the hero.
die Yanks, die! You cannot imagine how happy I am that there's some shifting of the balance of power in the AL East, at least for right now (to say nothing of the fact that my Jays are actually playing well). Mixing things up for a change can only be good for baseball.
