One thing I would do is bump the colors a little more in Photoshop. The Bobcats jerseys jump at me a little more in Layton's photo.

Yours is way better. I mean, your captures the excitement of the crowd. The color afro wig guy to the left of the basket support, the reactions of all the fans on the right.
There is a pic of Jordan's last shot with the Bulls to clinch the 1998 Finals in Utah. It captures Jordan releasing the ball and you can see the huge crowd behind the basket looking on in dread while there is a Bulls fan in the mix, beaming before the shot is even released.
