Totally digging Chuck Klosterman's Final Four blog. Key Passage: "I prefer the expressionless Mr. Oden, a person who's likely sitting beneath a singular table lamp, silently reading Chuck Eddy's analysis of the British invasion while peeling a tangerine."

This is all well and good but I still hate him. And Billy Donovan.

Your early entry list for this year's NBA draft. Tyler Hansbrough is such a pussy.

ESPN extends Bill Simmons through 2010.

Fluxblog has started a new blog (side project?) that will solely be about R.E.M. songs.

Wow! Sounds like the gig of a lifetime.

You're so clever. I doubt they care though.

I told you yesterday that Mew are teh awesome. Now hear for yourself. Download this, courtesy of KEXP, and tell me this doesn't blow your socks off:
[MP3] Mew | Am I Wry, No?
That shit is straight fire! Love the touches of piano. Download their entire performance for KEXP at SXSWorst and check out the KEXP blog for their entire festival archive. I'm slowly going through it and will post anything that grabs me. My only complaint: No Gruff!

[MP3] Grant Lee Phillips | Soft Asylum
Raise your hand if your favorite GL Phillips tuns is "Mockingbirds." His new album Strangelet is out on March 27th.

[MP3] Chromeo | Tenderoni
I'm hoping this is a Bobby Brown cover.

[MP3] Roger Waters | Hello, I love You
This is a new song on for the movie The Last Mimzy starring Dwight Schrute.

Two Amy Winehouse videos:
Rehab
You Know I'm No Good
Still not sure how I feel about this record, but I'm glad this and the Lily Allen record are moving some units. Better them than Nickelback.

[MP3] Central Serivces | Four Letter Word
[MP3] Central Services | Getting Better Lately
This band is out of Seattle and apparently KEXP hearts them. Ms. Smith, have you ever heard of them?

[MP3] Mika | Relax
This guy is hot shit in the UK, but he just sounds like a Scissor Sisters ripoff to me.

Goldenfiddle has new MP3's by Humble Rodent and Kings of Leon for you to check out. Don't worry if you don't like the KOL track. The album is awesome. My fave track is "Fans" (which you can get right here). It's been stuck in my head for over a week now. Make it stop!

Need a ticket to see The Shins at DAR next week? You're in luck, Washingtonian is giving one away. Go hit them up for it!

Damore's favorite band, The Bravery, is streaming snippets of three new songs over on their website. Sounds OK.

Heard The Noisettes yet? They're touring with TV on the Radio. Here's an MP3:

Watch the new Kings of Leon video for "On Call." I am soooo excited for this record.

That's it for today. Sorry. I'd write more but I'm too busy deleting SXSW concert announcements from my inbox. Wake me when it's over.

I finally got to see the conclusion of the first half of Season Three of Veronica Mars last night. It was teh awesome. I just wanted to mention that for no other reason than I am proud of myself for having avoided reading anything about it since it aired way back in November. Although I did know that Dean O'Dell was killed in the episode. Can't wait for the new episodes to start back. I am officially addicted to this show. And not because Kristen Bell is a hottie.

Ms. Smith and I have been transfixed with Season Two. We're only about 13 episodes in at this point, but it has blown my mind numerous times. Season Two is teh awesome! I will refrain from gushing about it too much so as to not ruin it for others, but the episode where they go the Mexico is probably my favorite VM episode ever. Didn't see it coming at all. Best!

How to be a curious photographer.

The squirrel cycle. Someone needs to put Mr. Pink on the case. he fix that shit real quick like.

Stream the Fujiya & Miyagi track "Collarbone."

Have you listened to the new Kaiser Chiefs track "Ruby" yet? It's like they sat around a room and figured out "You know what, people really liked Parklife-era Blur. We should write a song that totally rips them off. People would love it. Damon's been too busy doing Gorillaz for the last few years, they won't slag us off for copying them because they miss Blur." And you know what, they're right. "Ruby" sounds totally focus-grouped, but it's catchy as fuck all. But I bet somewhere in the UK, Graham's saying "Better you guys than me."

Remixes by Phones usually do it for me, but not so this time. Check it out for yourself.

Stream the new Ghostface track "You Know I'm No Good" featuring Amy Winehouse .

Check out MSN for audio links for Noel & Gem playing live in Paris.

Stream the entire new album by Gwen Stefani. But be warned, it's been pretty much panned across the board.

Stream "Kim's Chords" from the upcoming Sonic Youth album, The Destroyed Room: B-sides And Rarities.

I'm the first person to admit that I can't listen to half the stuff that gets sent my way on a daily basis. Sometimes I miss things when they are originally sent to me and it takes something else (a random email, seeing a band name on another blog, etc.) for me to go back and dig up what was sent to me. Case in point. I got an email with some MP3's from a Chicago band called The Changes way back in the beginning of September but didn't get around to listening to their music until today. Big mistake. These guys are good. Listen to this:

[MP3] The Changes | When I Wake

[MP3] The Changes | Water of the Gods

[MP3] The Changes | Such A Scene

All three are great tracks. If you're a fan of Voxtrot, you should give The Changes a listen. You can always head over to their MySpace page if you'd rather stream their music.

Lastly, they're playing DC9 tomorrow night. I can't make it, but you should go. Send me a full report if you do. I'm giving away a pair of tickets over on DCist.

Robbers On High Street will be releasing a new EP, The Fatalist And Friends, on November 14th. I heart EP's and I wish more artists would release them. Gimme 5 or 6 great songs instead of tacking on 4 more tracks of filler anyday. But I digress..
